Join us for the opening of “wHOLE,” a deeply personal exhibition by Will Langston, this October 5th at One Nimman. This exhibit marks one of the most vulnerable projects Will has undertaken, exploring themes of absence, loss, and the pursuit of healing through photography.
Over the last three years, Will documented the joyful and intimate moments shared with a significant figure in his life. Following a profound breakup, these photographs transformed from treasured memories into poignant reminders of absence. In “wHOLE,” Will has altered these images, removing the presence of his former partner and replacing it with a stark matte black. This act is not only a part of the healing process but also challenges the viewer to find meaning in what is left unsaid and unseen.
The exhibition delves into the sensations of incompleteness and emptiness that accompany separation but also introduces a narrative of growth and renewal. It is a space where viewers are invited to confront their own stories of loss and healing, reflecting on the past and the potential for future wholeness.
About the Artist:
Will Langston, born in 1989 in Buffalo, New York, is a graduate of Chiang Mai University with a Master’s degree in photography. Over the past eight years, he has focused on capturing the lives of marginalized communities and documenting social movements in Thailand. A committed photojournalist and an exclusive contributor to Getty Images, Will’s work has also appeared in The Guardian and has been featured in Chiang Mai CityLife. His photography is known for its raw, emotional depth that vividly captures the human experience.
